Exciting Progress in Azerbaijan’s Development Goals

The Azerbaijan Rapid Technical Assistance Facility (AZTAF) is making significant strides towards completion in four key areas, according to Stephanie Stollmeister, Country Manager of the World Bank Office in Azerbaijan. This initiative, funded by the European Union and managed by the World Bank, aims to provide technical assistance to support the country’s national development priorities outlined in the Azerbaijan Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2022-2026.

Stollmeister highlighted the diverse topics covered by AZTAF, including energy efficiency, women’s entrepreneurship, and ‘smart villages’. She emphasized that the program plays a crucial role in directly supporting the implementation of these activities and directions within the national strategy.

During the second annual reporting meeting in Baku, Stollmeister expressed optimism about the active progress towards achieving development goals, with four initiatives nearing completion. The collaboration between the government of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Economy, and other state institutions underscores the collective effort to drive sustainable growth and innovation in the country.
