Kazakhstan and ADB talk new project prospects

Kazakhstan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are exploring new opportunities for projects in housing, communal services, and energy industries. Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev met with ADB officials to discuss potential collaborations, including programs for highway reconstruction and support for women through mortgage lending.

ADB has also shown interest in funding wastewater treatment plants in several cities, and Bozumbayev has directed authorities to conduct necessary assessments by mid-July. Since joining ADB in 1994, Kazakhstan has received about $7 billion in loans, grants, and technical assistance.

Regional cooperation under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program is a key focus for ADB in Kazakhstan, where the country is leading the initiative this year. This partnership aims to boost economic development and integration in the region.
