In a recent government session, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan revealed the extensive damages caused by floods in various communities of Lori and Tavush regions in Armenia. Particularly in Sanahin, Alaverdi, the village of Karkop has been completely submerged under water, leading to a mass evacuation. The minister stated that the magnitude of devastation requires significant rescue efforts, with over 100 rescuers currently involved in the operations.
Apart from residential areas, critical infrastructure such as the Ayrum station and railway stations have also suffered damages. The aftermath of the floods has left a trail of destruction, impacting gardens, buildings, and public facilities along the Debed riverbed to Bagratashen. Sanosyan highlighted that some damages remain hidden as the water has not receded completely.
