Imran Khan Complains of Lack of Legal Assistance in Court Hearing
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his difficulties in seeking legal assistance during a court hearing with Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa. Currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, Imran stated that he was being kept in solitary confinement without access to his legal team or necessary materials for his case regarding changes to anti-graft laws.
A five-member bench, led by CJP Isa, decided against live-streaming the proceedings, causing a delay in Imran’s appearance. The case involves intra-court appeals against amendments to the anti-graft laws made by the federal government.
While Imran’s presence via video link was ordered by the Supreme Court, the court session focused on arguments about the constitutionality of the amendments. Imran requested permission to meet with his legal team, emphasizing the importance of legal expertise in preparing his defense.
The hearing was adjourned till the following week, with Imran’s lawyer needing three hours for his arguments. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing case.
