The Tianqi Satellite Constellation Continues Expansion with Launch of Four New Satellites
The Tianqi 25-28 satellites were successfully launched on a Ceres-1S rocket by Galactic Energy, lifting off from a mobile platform in eastern China’s Shandong province. These satellites are part of the Tianqi constellation, which aims to provide global coverage and near real-time data transmission services through smart devices.
Guodian Gaoke, the developer and operator of the constellation, plans to expand its services to include outdoor emergency response and military applications. The satellites are equipped with high-stability, high-speed data communication capabilities, offering 10-minute global coverage.
The compact and cost-effective terminal equipment required for the Tianqi constellation is a key feature. With terminals as small as 3.5cm in diameter and costs below $138, the constellation is accessible to a wide range of users.
Galactic Energy’s successful launch demonstrates its capability to launch from sea platforms, fulfilling specific orbital requirements. As the only Chinese company offering both land and sea launch options, Galactic Energy is poised for more launches in the future.
