The Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) recently made significant arrests related to a foreign intelligence service. Three individuals, including a Polish national and two Belarusian nationals, were detained under the direction of the prosecutor’s office.
The suspects are accused of participating in organized criminal activities on behalf of a foreign intelligence service, targeting the Republic of Poland. The charges include espionage for the Russian intelligence service and acts of sabotage in exchange for financial gain.
If found guilty, the detained individuals could face life imprisonment according to the Polish Penal Code. The prosecutor’s office has requested temporary detention due to concerns about obstruction of justice and the severity of the crimes. The court has approved this request, agreeing with the prosecution’s assessment.
