US Invites Netanyahu, Wanted Criminal, to DC

The US extends an invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress despite war crime charges from the International Criminal Court (ICC). Growing opposition from US Democrats reflects dissatisfaction with Netanyahu’s actions in Gaza that have led to civilian casualties.

“I think that Democrats are demoralized. They’re just sick and tired of Biden’s ineffectuality. He keeps promising that a ceasefire is just around the corner,” said investigative journalist Dan Lazare.

A poll reveals that a majority of Americans disapprove of Israel’s actions in Gaza, highlighting shifts in public opinion towards the conflict. The situation in the Persian Gulf, with recent attacks by Houthis, adds complexity to regional dynamics.

“The US-Israeli alliance remains a priority despite dissent. The Houthis’ impact on Red Sea traffic poses challenges, but US control in the Persian Gulf remains significant,” stated Lazare.
