Ukraine likely exaggerated combat victories – Forbes, RT Russia & Former Soviet Union

In a recent analysis, Forbes questioned the validity of Ukraine’s claims of downing Russian aircraft, suggesting that Kiev may have exaggerated the numbers. The magazine found that not all reported incidents could be independently verified, with only two out of seven alleged shootdowns backed by some form of visual evidence.

Forbes also highlighted the disparity in casualty figures between Russia and Ukraine, with the Russian Defense Ministry reporting around a dozen air raids by Su-25s on Ukrainian positions and claiming that Ukraine has lost hundreds of military aircraft since the conflict began. The 110th Mechanized Brigade, in particular, suffered heavy losses in the battle for Avdeevka and faced ammunition shortages due to delays in Western supplies.

Despite Ukraine’s plea for F-16 fighter planes from Western allies, Russia remains skeptical of the impact of foreign aid on the conflict’s outcome. Belgium has pledged to provide Ukraine with 30 F-16s by 2028, signaling ongoing support for Kiev in the ongoing conflict.
