During his visit to the Spirit Wind International Ministries voting station in Juju Valley, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe confirmed its status as a high-risk area with predominantly EFF supporters. The commissioner emphasized that law enforcement is not targeting specific party affiliates but maintaining order.

Recent clashes between ANC and EFF members in Juju Valley led to injuries, including a nine-year-old girl shot in the head during a campaign. Despite these challenges, voting processes at the high-risk stations were observed to be functioning smoothly with added police surveillance.

Hadebe assured that law enforcement is vigilant in the hotspot areas, deploying drones for monitoring. While the investigation into the shooting incident continues, no arrests have been made yet.

As the elections progress, efforts are being made to ensure a safe voting environment and hold accountable those involved in violent incidents.
