Fuel prices set to decrease by up to Rs7.5/litre – Business

Good news for consumers in Pakistan as petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices are expected to decrease by approximately Rs6.50 to Rs7.50 per litre on May 31. Despite a slight exchange rate loss, the bearish trend in the international market has led to a decline in prices.

The prices of petrol and HSD have dropped significantly in the international market in the last few weeks. This drop, along with a decrease in import premium, is projected to result in a reduction of Rs7.25 for petrol and Rs6.25 for HSD per litre.

With the government already hitting the maximum petroleum levy limit, the reduction in prices comes as a relief for consumers who have been facing inflation due to higher petrol and electricity prices. These price reductions will have a direct impact on the budgets of middle and lower-middle-class households.

Overall, this decrease in petrol and HSD prices reflects a positive outlook for consumers in Pakistan, providing much-needed relief in the current economic climate.
