Dangote Cement trucks to switch to CNG from 2023 – Business – The Guardian Nigeria News

The Chairman of Dangote Cement Plc, Aliko Dangote, announced a 50% increase in dividend payout to shareholders, from N20 to N30 per share, amidst applause for the impressive 2023 financial results. Dangote also shared plans for the company’s delivery trucks to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) in line with the government’s agenda on alternative fuels.

During the 15th yearly general meeting in Lagos, Dangote highlighted the company’s commitment to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to a more secure energy future. The ongoing construction of a new plant in Ogun State aims to ramp up production despite challenges at the Apapa Port in Lagos.

Dangote expressed satisfaction with the company’s double-digit revenue growth of ₦2.21 trillion and record-high EBITDA of ₦886.1 billion. He reassured shareholders of continued efforts to enhance Return on Investments (RoI) and promised an even better year ahead.
