443 people evacuated post-flood in Lori and Tavush.

Heavy rains in Lori and Tavush regions of Armenia led to devastating floods on May 25-26, prompting a massive rescue effort by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The rescue service deployed 51 combat units, 6 operational groups, and 456 rescuers to assist affected areas.

A total of 443 individuals were saved and evacuated from different settlements, with 4 unfortunate casualties. The government declared a disaster zone in Lori and Tavush regions, allocating resources for relief efforts. Ongoing work includes assessing damages, draining water, and providing food and necessities to affected communities.

The rescue service is also working on creating a temporary pedestrian bridge to the Sanahin Station settlement. Despite the challenges, the dedicated team of 115 rescue workers and 16 combat units continues to provide essential aid to isolated areas.

The recent events serve as a reminder of the importance of swift and coordinated response in times of crisis. The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ rescue service remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens.\
