With a total of 54 passengers on board, some survivors sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Noorullah Essazai, a government health official, revealed that efforts are being made to airlift critically injured patients to Quetta while others will be transferred to a hospital in Khuzdar. The bus driver, unfortunately, did not survive the accident.
Both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed their condolences to the affected families and pledged support for the injured. This tragic incident underscores the prevalent issue of road accidents in Pakistan, particularly in its mountainous regions.
Despite efforts to improve road safety, more needs to be done to prevent such tragedies and ensure the safety of passengers traveling through these treacherous terrains.
