European countries plan to build a drone wall along eastern border
During a recent meeting in Latvia, European interior ministers have decided to construct a drone wall along the eastern border of the continent, extending from Norway to Poland. The aim is to enable continuous aerial surveillance and security measures to counter any potential threats.
Lithuanian Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite highlighted the importance of this project, stating that surveillance drones and anti-drone systems will work together to monitor the border effectively. The European Union will fund the initiative, with participating countries set to assess the necessary work and draft a detailed plan with expert assistance.
Lithuania has already made progress in this area, establishing a UAV unit and preparing to acquire more drones and anti-drone systems. The overall goal is to enhance border security and combat any illicit activities through advanced technological solutions.
