YEREVAN, MAY 28, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of Territorial Management and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan disclosed the progress made in communities of Tavush and Lori regions, declared disaster zones due to recent floods.

Sanosyan reported a 35cm drop in the Debed river’s water level, facilitating ongoing restoration works for railways, roads, bridges, electrical lines, gas pipelines, property paperwork, and food distribution.

Teams are dedicated to completing assigned tasks efficiently, with plans to potentially temporarily open the Ayrum station bridge for light passenger vehicles, following consultations with specialists.

The Armenian government declared the affected areas in Tavush and Lori regions disaster zones, releasing 300 million drams to address urgent issues caused by devastating floods and rainfall, resulting in damages, road closures, and casualties in the region.
