Donald Trump sells private jet amid cash squeeze

Former President Donald Trump, burdened with over $500 million in court fines, recently sold one of his private jets to a major Republican donor. The 1997 Cessna Citation X was transferred on May 13, although the sale price remains undisclosed. Aviation experts estimate the value to be between $8.5 to $10 million.

While the new owner of the jet is not named in FAA records, it is listed under a Dallas-based holding company, MM Fleet Holdings LLC, believed to be tied to Iranian American real estate developer, Mehrdad Moayedi. Moayedi has donated generously to Republican campaigns, including Trump’s re-election bid.

Trump, who still owns a Boeing 757 and a fleet of helicopters, used the jet sale to generate funds for his mounting legal battles. With hefty fines to pay from defamation and fraud cases, Trump’s legal fees have surpassed $100 million. Despite tapping into campaign funds, the expenses continue to rise, affecting his ability to influence voters.

As Trump navigates through multiple criminal trials, the sale of his jet serves as a strategic financial move amidst a complex legal landscape.
