Massive security operation in Athens for Conference League final as Olympiakos vies for title

Olympiakos is gearing up for its first European trophy as they face Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final in Athens. More than 3,000 police officers will be ensuring security measures are in place for the game, with the city preparing for potential celebrations if Olympiakos emerges victorious.

Despite a challenging season domestically, Olympiakos has found success in the European competition, with striker Ayoub El Kaabi leading the scoring charts. Coach Jose Luis Mendilibar, who guided Sevilla to Europa League glory last season, is aiming to implement a hard-pressing style in the final.

Fiorentina, coming off a loss in last year’s final, is determined to apply the lessons learned as they face Olympiakos once again. Coach Vincenzo Italiano is focusing on mental and physical preparation for the crucial match.

Greece’s government has implemented strict security measures following recent incidents in domestic soccer, ensuring a safe environment for the final. With tensions high, both teams are ready to battle it out for the coveted Europa Conference League trophy.
