The Armenian government has announced that flooded communities and settlements in the Lori and Tavush marzes will be declared as disaster zones. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, made this announcement during a meeting of the operational headquarters. In order to address urgent issues, 300 million drams (over 773 thousand dollars) will be allocated for relief efforts. Additionally, the Minister reported road and bridge collapses along the M6 interstate road towards Ayrum station.
It is crucial to provide immediate assistance to the affected areas and support the residents who are grappling with the aftermath of the floods. The government’s swift action in designating the areas as disaster zones demonstrates their commitment to aiding those in need. By allocating financial resources and mobilizing efforts to repair infrastructure damages, the authorities are working towards restoring normalcy in the affected regions.
