After a deadly Russian strike on a buildings material hypermarket in Kharkiv, President Zelensky called for increased air defense protection in a video post on May 25. He emphasized the need for decisive action to protect Ukrainian lives and prevent further terrorist attacks.

Two people were killed, and 33 were injured in the attack. Governor Syniehubov reported that Russian guided bombs caused the destruction, leading to a massive fire. Zelensky praised the efforts of emergency services and authorities in responding to the crisis.

Despite ongoing Russian offensives in the region, Ukrainian officials continue to report civilian casualties and executions by Russian forces. Zelensky highlighted the importance of modern air defense systems to deter Russian aggression.
