In a final appeal ahead of the elections, South Africa’s main opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, is calling on South Africans to help unseat the ruling African National Congress. The Democratic Alliance, the largest opposition party in South Africa, has formed a pact with smaller opposition parties known as the Multi-Party Charter for South Africa to challenge the ANC’s grip on power.

Recent polls suggest that the ANC’s national vote could fall below 50%, adding pressure on the Democratic Alliance to rally support. The party’s leader, John Steenhuisen, warned against staying home or splitting the vote, emphasizing the consequences of an ANC-led coalition with other parties.

Meanwhile, the Inkatha Freedom Party, with a strong presence in the KwaZulu Natal province, has aligned with the Democratic Alliance in a bid to remove the current government.
