Israeli raids in Rafah claim 35 lives

In a tragic turn of events, the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza reported that at least 35 people were killed and dozens wounded in Israeli strikes on a displacement center near Rafah. Israel’s army confirmed the air strike on a Hamas compound, acknowledging the civilian casualties. The Gazan ministry stated that most of the victims were children and women.

Amidst the chaos, the ICRC set up field hospitals to tend to the influx of casualties. The situation grew more dire as strikes in Rafah continued, claiming more lives, including that of a pregnant woman.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated as rockets were fired from Rafah towards central Israel, prompting a response from the Israeli military. Hamas’s armed wing claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks, citing retaliation for civilian casualties.

The cycle of violence in Gaza has once again brought suffering to innocent civilians, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. As the world watches in horror, the toll of the conflict continues to rise.
