Noah’s Ark attraction in Ma Wan opens in 2009

The HK$1 billion Ma Wan Park features the Noah’s Ark as its centrepiece, built by Sun Hung Kai Properties and operated by an advisory committee. Project director Spencer Lu Chee-yuen describes the ark as a place of love and harmony, distinct from other attractions in Hong Kong.

Noah’s Ark, inspired by the biblical ship, showcases themes of family, nature, and moral values. However, some attractions like the 4D film on climate change and images of human sacrifice raised concerns among visitors.

Despite the controversial elements, Secretary for Development Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor emphasized the park’s benefits and partnership between the government and private sectors. The complex offers a unique experience with life-size animal sculptures, an interactive children’s museum, and accommodations.

Ma Wan Park continues to expand with upcoming attractions like the Solar Tower, making it a must-visit destination for families in Hong Kong.
