Passengers from a Singapore Airlines flight are still recovering in hospital after severe turbulence led to the death of a British man. With six Britons in critical condition and two crew members also hospitalized in Bangkok, investigations are ongoing to understand the turbulence’s impact.
According to Adinun Kittiratanapaibool, Director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital in Bangkok, 20 passengers remain in intensive care units with no life-threatening cases reported. Of the 40 still receiving treatment, 22 have spinal cord injuries and six have brain and skull injuries.
Singapore Airlines is providing updates and support to those affected, with their CEO personally addressing passengers and families. The incident occurred as the Boeing 777 from London to Singapore experienced a sudden dive, causing injuries and necessitating an emergency landing in Bangkok.
Despite the tragic loss of Geoffrey Kitchen, passengers like Josh Silverstone are grateful to be discharged from hospitals after surviving the ordeal. Silverstone recalled the chaos and injuries suffered during the turbulence.
