Miles Guo, also known as Miles Kwok and Ho Wan Kwok, is accused of running a grand-scale con where he used funds from followers to live a lavish lifestyle. The Manhattan jury is currently deliberating on these allegations, with Guo’s lawyer arguing that the businessman’s intentions were legitimate and aimed at opposing the Chinese Communist Party.
Prosecutors claim Guo used fraudulent schemes to acquire funds for personal luxuries, leading to charges of fraud, racketeering, conspiracy, and money laundering. His association with Steve Bannon and his critical stance against the Chinese government have added complexity to the case, which could last until July.
