The Chinese consulate in New York rebutted by stating that Taiwan independence efforts were destined to fail and reiterated the one-China principle. The US, while not recognizing Taiwan as independent, remains committed to supporting its defense capability. The recent exercises aimed to enhance combat readiness and test joint capabilities of theater forces.
Despite concerns, the drills were milder than previous exercises, signaling China’s stance on Taiwan. US senator Roger Wicker emphasized support for Taiwan’s democracy, urging correct utilization of foreign military funds. The Inter-Parliamentary Alliance called for global condemnation of China’s actions and a commitment to regional stability.
