Mallorca beach building collapse: 4 dead, 21 injured | Spain

A tragic incident unfolded on a beachfront in Mallorca as a two-storey building, the Medusa Beach Club, collapsed, resulting in the death of four individuals and injuring around 21 people. The emergency services in Palma de Mallorca were quick to respond, with seven seriously injured individuals rushed to nearby hospitals.

As the search and rescue efforts continued, the cause of the structural failure remained unknown, prompting an investigation. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez assured the deployment of all necessary resources to address the crisis.

Amid the tragedy, local authorities and officials expressed shock and sympathy for the victims and their families. The Foreign Office confirmed that no British nationals were involved in the incident.

As the resort town of Palma de Mallorca grapples with this disaster during the beginning of the tourist season, authorities are appealing for information to aid in the investigation. The Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, attract millions of visitors annually.
