At Least 16 People Killed in IDF’s Strike on Mosque in Northern Gaza City – Reports

Sputnik International

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – At least 16 people, including 10 children, were killed in an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) air strike on the Fatima al-Zahra Mosque in northern Gaza City, as reported by Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera. This attack is a part of ongoing violence between Israel and Palestine, with Israel aiming to eliminate Hamas fighters in the region. The conflict escalated when Hamas launched a rocket attack on Israel in October 2023, resulting in casualties on both sides.

Gaza Crisis

The IDF launched a counterterrorist operation, taking control of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt to combat Hamas. Subsequently, Israel initiated a ground incursion into the Gaza Strip, resulting in civilian casualties and hostages. The violence has claimed over 35,600 lives, and more than 100 hostages are still believed to be held by Hamas in Gaza.
