The Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly acknowledges the dissolution of the House of Commons at Westminster and the announcement of a General Election scheduled for Thursday, 4 July, 2024.

The Chair of the Legislative Assembly, Peter Biggs, expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, Speaker of the House of Commons, and other UK political parties for their continuous support to the Falkland Islands. He also highlighted recent visits by notable figures such as Foreign Secretary Lord David Cameron and Minister for the Overseas Territories, David Rutley MP.

Biggs emphasized the importance of maintaining the strong bond of friendship and cooperation with the UK Government regarding Falkland Islands affairs.
