BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan welcomed President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan in a state visit, emphasizing the strong historical and friendly ties between the two nations. Both leaders discussed various areas of cooperation, including economic projects, industrial partnerships, and humanitarian initiatives.
They signed the Declaration on Strategic Partnership, highlighting the deepening of their relations and mutual support. A total of 14 documents were signed to enhance the legal framework of their collaboration. President Aliyev invited President Rahmon to participate in the upcoming climate conference in November, underscoring the importance of Tajikistan’s contribution to the event.
The two leaders also focused on expanding trade, cultural exchanges, and transportation links between their countries. They pledged to strengthen security measures and increase cooperation in various sectors to foster development and progress.
