Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, met with Ismail Haniyeh to extend condolences after the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation in a helicopter crash. The Leader thanked the Palestinian nation for their support and highlighted the remarkable resistance of the people of Gaza.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the realization of God’s promises in the Quran, expressing confidence in the eventual elimination of the Zionist regime and the establishment of Palestine. He affirmed that the late President’s policies regarding Palestine would be upheld by his successor, Mr. Mokhber.
The helicopter crash occurred as President Raisi was returning from inaugurating a dam in East Azarbaijan province, killing several high-ranking officials. Ayatollah Khamenei declared five days of public mourning and appointed the first vice president to manage executive power during this time.
