On May 22, the President of the Armenian National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, welcomed a delegation headed by Claude Wiseler, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The meeting focused on the strong political dialogue between Armenia and Luxembourg, highlighting the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing bilateral relations.
Both leaders discussed the recent unanimous resolution passed by the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg in support of Armenia and the call for peace and stability in the region. They condemned the displacement of over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh and urged for the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war.
Wiseler expressed Luxembourg’s readiness to continue supporting Armenia in achieving peace and stability in the South Caucasus. The discussions also included topics such as Armenia-EU economic relations, EU-Armenia visa liberalization, and the security situation in the region.
The meeting concluded with Wiseler leaving a note in the Book of Honorable Guests, showcasing the strengthening ties between the parliaments of Armenia and Luxembourg.
