March Against Crime: ANC Youth League and Soshanguve Residents Take a Stand
A recent surge in deadly crime in Soshanguve has prompted members of the ANC Youth League and local residents to march from Giant Stadium to the Soshanguve police station. The march, led by League president Collen Malatji, aims to address community concerns and demand immediate action to improve safety and security in the area.
Malatji accused the local police of colluding with criminals, stating that the youth are ready to take charge of protecting their communities. The march highlighted frustrations with the police’s handling of rising brutal murders and called for 24-hour visible policing and a reconfiguration of the CPF task team to address cold cases.
The youth league demanded a comprehensive response from the authorities within 14 working days, emphasizing that they are protesting against crime, not the government. National executive committee member Mduduzi Manana reiterated the importance of police protection against daily criminal activities.
