In a heartfelt meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in Tehran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep condolences on behalf of Pakistan for the tragic deaths of President Ebrahim Raeisi and his Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a helicopter crash in northwest Iran on May 19.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised President Raeisi’s dedication to his country and people, highlighting his recent visit to Pakistan in April 2024 as a testament to his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. He also acknowledged President Raeisi’s efforts in supporting Muslim unity and aiding the people of Gaza.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Iran and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering friendship and brotherhood. He was joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, and Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
