International lawyers representing the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo have uncovered new evidence suggesting Apple is sourcing minerals from conflict-ridden areas in the east of the country. The lawyers have called on Apple to address concerns about its supply chain and are considering legal action. Despite repeated attempts to reach out, Apple has not responded to requests for comment.

Congo’s legal representatives have sent inquiries to Apple CEO Tim Cook and subsidiaries in France, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. Amsterdam & Partners LLP, the law firm involved, stressed the importance of Apple providing transparent answers to the allegations. Robert Amsterdam, one of the lawyers, highlighted the significance of the new evidence provided by whistleblowers.
