Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has urged the Centre to cancel the diplomatic passport of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of sexual abuse. Despite a court issuing an arrest warrant against Prajwal, there has been no response from the Centre yet. Parameshwara emphasized the importance of cooperation within the legal framework to uphold the law.
Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former PM H D Deve Gowda, is accused of sexually abusing women and is currently evading arrest. The Interpol has issued a ‘Blue Corner Notice’ to locate him, as he left for Germany after the elections in Hassan. The SIT has requested the Centre to cancel his passport, which is essential in such circumstances.
The Home Minister also commented on JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy’s claims about Deputy CM D K Shivakumar’s involvement in circulating explicit videos of Prajwal. Parameshwara reiterated the need for a thorough investigation following legal procedures, disregarding political influences.
