Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Tavush for the Homeland movement and Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church, is set to visit Kirants village of Tavush on Monday. The village is currently surrounded by a large number of police forces, as reported by the movement on Facebook along with accompanying photos.

Residents of Kirants have been protesting against the government’s decision to divide the village during the border delimitation process, which would result in some villagers’ homes falling on the Azerbaijani side. This has prompted members of the Tavush for the Homeland movement to take action, showing their opposition to the authorities’ policy of making unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan.

The movement’s participants are also traveling from Yerevan to Kirants to show their solidarity with the villagers. Stay updated on the latest developments by following the movement’s Facebook page.
