The Council of Ministers in Amman approved a draft bylaw amendment for licensing activities in the petroleum derivatives sector for 2024. The decision was made to address the issue of activities in the sector being carried out without the proper collection of fees. Therefore, the amendment aims to specify and regulate the fees for these activities.
In addition to this decision, Mahmoud Shaalan was appointed as the Secretary-General of the Economic and Social Council. This appointment signifies a step towards effective governance and leadership in the economic and social sectors in Jordan.
