Peshawar Welcomes Back Students from Bishkek
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur announced the arrival of the first flight from Bishkek to Peshawar, scheduled for 2 am on Wednesday. A total of 290 students will be welcomed back, with the provincial government allocating Rs 120 million for their return.
CM Gandapur assured that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will provide all necessary assistance to Pakistanis in need in Bishkek. So far, 810 students have been airlifted via five flights following the recent violence in the area.
The repatriation efforts were initiated after reports of unrest in Bishkek emerged. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, also expressed support for the students’ safe return, affirming Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s prompt actions in this regard.
