Editor’s Note: The article was updated at 6:25 p.m. local time after the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported the death toll had risen once again.

Russian troops attacked a recreation center in a northern suburb of Kharkiv, killing six civilians, including a pregnant woman, and injuring 27. The attack took place in Mala Danylivka, with casualties including a missing fisherman and a paramedic among the wounded.

In a later post on Telegram, Governor Oleh Syniehubov revealed that the Russian forces used a “double-tap” strike tactic, deliberately targeting rescue workers. The strikes in Kharkiv have intensified in recent months, with the city facing extensive damage to critical infrastructure.

President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks and called for increased support and air defense systems to combat Russian aggression. The residents of Kharkiv and surrounding areas continue to face threats, prompting calls for evacuation by local officials.
