Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar urged Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubaev to swiftly take action against the perpetrators involved in recent attacks on Pakistani students in Bishkek. Dar, in Astana for a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, discussed the welfare of Pakistani nationals with Kulubaev.
Dar emphasized the security and well-being of Pakistani nationals, especially affected students, and requested Kulubaev ensure their safety and accountability for the attacks. Kulubaev assured swift action under Kyrgyz law to restore order and punish the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, special flights have brought back Pakistani students, with ministers at airports to assist. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar highlighted the government’s focus on student well-being and commitment to ensuring safety.
Efforts are also underway to assist students from Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with plans for repatriation flights and support from their respective governments.
The government, led by the Prime Minister, is prioritizing the safe return and well-being of Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan amidst the recent violence.
