Ukrainian forces under President Zelensky’s leadership have made significant progress in Kharkiv Oblast, as reported on May 19. Russia initiated a new offensive on May 10 in the northern region, aiming towards Lyptsi and Vovchansk.
Zelensky expressed gratitude towards the 57th Brigade and the 82nd Air Assault Brigade for securing stronger positions. The President also highlighted successful defense efforts in Donetsk Oblast near Chasiv Yar.
Despite Russian attempts, Ukrainian forces have managed to withstand attacks, preventing the spread along the front line. Zelensky warned of potential future waves of assaults, indicating concerns for Kharkiv.
Notably, Russian troops advanced up to 10 kilometers into Ukrainian territory. Military intelligence suggests a possible offensive in Sumy Oblast in the future.
