Turkey dispatches rescuers to find downed helicopter in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. In response to a request from Tehran, Turkish rescue teams equipped with night vision helicopters have been sent to the site of a helicopter crash involving Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, as reported by Trend.

AFAD, Turkey’s Emergency Management Agency, received the request for assistance through the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s channels. 32 rescuers and 6 vehicles were dispatched from Van and Erzurum provinces, with an additional 45 rescuers undergoing training in Ankara, Diyarbakir, and Konya provinces.

Today, a helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi and other officials made a hard landing en route from Hudafarin to Tabriz. Due to challenging weather conditions and terrain, search and rescue efforts have faced difficulties in reaching the crash site.
