Students in southern Yemen protested in Aden demanding justice after being deprived of scholarships to study in Saudi Arabia for the year 2023-2024. They gathered in front of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, urging the coalition government to intervene so they can enroll in universities in Saudi Arabia for 2024-2025.
The protesting students have been waiting for a year for their cultural exchange scholarships without any response from the Ministry of Higher Education. They refuse to give up their rights and question the motives behind the delays, despite completing all the necessary stages.
Last year, a scandal broke out regarding scholarships controlled by officials’ sons, tarnishing the government’s reputation in handling study abroad opportunities. The students continue to demand transparency and fair distribution of scholarships.
