Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA recently thwarted an attempted kidnapping of a prominent figure in the South-East at Umuaka community in Imo State. The operation, conducted on May 17, 2024, resulted in the neutralization of one kidnapper and injuries to two others.
The troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, two loaded magazines, and a motorcycle during the operation. Additionally, in a joint effort with personnel from Naval Base Oguta, a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) was taken down in Oguta LGA.
The cooperation and timely intelligence provided by the Umuaka and Oguta communities were praised by the spokesperson for the Joint Task Force. The Force Commander, Maj.-Gen. Hassan Dada, appeals for continued support in restoring peace in Imo and the South-East region.
