Three Spanish tourists die in shooting in Afghanistan

Tragedy struck in the picturesque city of Bamiyan, Afghanistan, as three Spanish tourists and an Afghan national lost their lives in a fatal shooting. Reports from local authorities and the Spanish government confirmed the heartbreaking incident, which also left four foreigners and three Afghans injured.

The European Union and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez expressed their shock and sadness over the attack, with Spain’s foreign ministry confirming the nationality of the victims. The wounded individuals hailed from Norway, Australia, Lithuania, and Spain, as per hospital sources.

Security forces swiftly apprehended four suspects in connection with the crime, while the Taliban government issued a statement condemning the act and pledging to bring the perpetrators to justice.

This tragedy has cast a dark shadow over Bamiyan, known for its ancient giant Buddhas destroyed by the Taliban in 2001 but still cherished as a top tourist destination in Afghanistan.
