Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan meets with EU Trade Commissioner

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, met with EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis on May 16. The meeting discussed the cooperation between Armenia and the EU, focusing on economic development, regional security, and stability.

Pashinyan expressed satisfaction with the Armenia-EU partnership and highlighted the recent high-level meeting in Brussels. The Armenian PM also discussed the state assistance program for displaced Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh and requested EU support.

Dombrovskis reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to Armenia’s economic growth and outlined areas for cooperation, including energy, infrastructure, and business climate improvement. The officials also talked about border delimitation with Azerbaijan and the Crossroads of Peace project.

The discussion emphasized the importance of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia and ensuring regional security. Overall, the meeting highlighted the strong diplomatic ties between Armenia and the European Union.
