In a recent meeting of the PML-N’s Central Working Committee (CWC) in Lahore, party supremo Nawaz Sharif made some startling accusations against PTI founder Imran Khan. Sharif claimed that Khan had betrayed him by organizing protests and rallies after promising to cooperate following the 2013 elections. Sharif recounted how he had personally reached out to Khan for collaboration, only to be blindsided by subsequent events.
Despite facing challenges, Sharif highlighted his government’s success in securing the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project. He also questioned the legality of his own disqualification, emphasizing his right to seek answers.
Sharif praised his party members for their resilience and touted the economic achievements of his past administrations. He urged the nation to consider the track records of political parties before voting, lamenting the lack of public outcry over his removal from office.
The meeting also saw the formal acceptance of PM Shehbaz’s resignation from the party presidency, with Sharif set to reclaim the position. The party leadership expressed optimism for a turnaround under PM Shehbaz’s leadership.
The political landscape is shifting within the PML-N, with Sharif poised to resume his role as party president amidst ongoing legal battles. The upcoming election of Sharif as president signals a new chapter in the party’s leadership.\
