Celebrate the fusion of Korean and Polish cultures at the grand opening event of Korean Culture Months in Poland. Held at the prestigious Column Hall at the University of Warsaw on May 14th, the festival kicked off with “An Afternoon with Korean-Polish UNESCO Heritage.” Throughout May and June, a series of events, meetings, and presentations will showcase the beauty and depth of Korean culture to the Polish audience.
Building Stronger Ties
Ambassador Lim Hoonmin celebrated the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and South Korea, emphasizing the strong ties forged through economic and cultural cooperation despite geographical differences.
Promoting Korean Culture
Director Dangkweon Lee discussed South Korea’s efforts to promote and globalize Korean culture, highlighting its presence in UNESCO’s lists of intangible cultural heritage and World Heritage Sites.

The event featured speeches by dignitaries and experts, including Prof. Marzanna Popławska, Agata Kurdziel, Prof. Małgorzata Karpińska, Dr. Katarzyna Zalasińska, and Dr. Anna Krochmal. The festivities concluded with captivating performances of traditional Polish Polonaise dance and Korean Pansori.
