A shocking incident at Ti Bo Kindergarten in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has led to outrage as a kindergarten teacher, Lam Thi Bach Nga, was caught on camera sitting on a five-year-old boy, holding him down, and forcing him to eat oranges on April 11. The video also showed her hitting the boy, causing distress to the child and his mother, Thanh Hong.
The mother shared that her son’s physical health is stable, but he is restless and often cries in his sleep. The teacher’s actions have prompted the local authorities to suspend the kindergarten’s operations and advise parents to transfer their children elsewhere.
Unfortunately, incidents of child abuse in nursery schools are not uncommon in Vietnam, with past cases involving teachers forcing children to eat vomit and covering their mouths with tape. The severity of such actions has led to calls for strict punishment for those responsible.
