Baghel claims Rahul did not attend rally due to chopper landing permission issue, DM denies charge

Former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel claimed that authorities denied permission for Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter to land in Barabanki, where he was supposed to attend a rally. The district administration refuted this claim, calling it baseless.

In response, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar stated that permission was granted for a helipad at the rally venue. Despite this, the event was canceled, and Baghel attended as the chief guest instead. The administration approved Baghel’s public meeting on May 18.

Allegations against the district administration were deemed false by Kumar, who presented correspondence between Congress leaders and the administration to the media. The BJP candidate Rajrani Rawat will face Tanuj Punia in the upcoming election on May 20 in Barabanki’s fifth phase.

At the rally supporting Punia, Baghel expressed confidence in their victory. Senior SP leader Arvind Kumar Singh predicted the downfall of the BJP government on June 4. The event closed with optimism for a new government.
